Fundada por la ciudad de Belgrado en 1960, con el apoyo del Ministerio de Cultura e Información de la República de Serbia, El Salón de Octubre | La Bienal de Belgrado es uno de las eventos culturales más importantes de la zona de los Balcanes. Tras el aplazamiento, la edición de 2020 tiene lugar este año.
Con 64 artistas participantes, la Bienal, tiene como temática de “THE DREAMERS” y nos propone reflexionar sobre el mundo del sueño como un espacio totalmente libre. Obras realizadas desde el soñador que todos llevamos dentro, como una necesidad, intentando vivir dentro de otros mundos y no solamente en el que ya conocemos. Las obras reflejan los vínculo entre distintos mundos, que juegan con los conceptos de imaginación, realidad, dimensiones, etc…

El mundo de los sueños nace de lo más profundo del ser humano, un lugar en el que no existen diferencias políticas, de raza o de cultura. La Bienal presenta más de 160 obras, con propuestas, desde; nuevas creaciones e intervenciones públicas y obra: desde conferencias hasta actuaciones en distintos lugares públicos de la ciudad, el artista Cyprien Gaillard ha obsequiado la ciudad con una instalación permanente. La edición de este año cuenta con una zona dedicada a a los libros, llamada “The Dreamers Library”, que engloba desde relatos hasta catálogos y revistas, donde se muestran ejemplares escogidos específicamente para el evento, así como algunos ejemplares creados en especial para la sección. Igualmente, se ha producido “The Dreamers LP”, un disco de vinilo en colaboración con Drugstore Club y músicos de la ciudad.
