El estudio MUT Design (Valencia) acogió el pasado mes de septiembre la muestra “Twisting and Twining. pushing rattan to the limit” una exposición sobre los proyectos creados en el taller impartido en el centro de investigación Domaine de Boisbuchet (Francia) desarrollado durante el pasado mes de agosto. El ratán es un material extremadamente versátil. El objetivo fue llevarlo al límite tratando de forzar sus propiedades al máximo, y así explorar nuevos usos. Un taller impartido sin reglas, con total libertad para dar a luz nuevas aplicaciones creadas por cada participante.
Productos que van desde hamacas y columpios hasta taburetes y jarrones, así como muchas otras soluciones creativas fueron reunidos para la exposición. Uno de los retos del taller fue construir la vaporera necesaria para ablandar cañas de bejuco y así trabajar con ellas. Ese vapor “casero” se colocó en el sótano del estudio. A su alrededor, se reproducirían los vídeos grabados durante el taller para acercar a los visitantes al ambiente especial de los días pasados en Boisbuchet.
