Vitra Design Museum acoge hasta el próximo 16 de septiembre la muestra “The Revolution of Space”. El holandés Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964) fue uno de los diseñadores y arquitectos más importantes del siglo XX. Su obra se asocia con sus dos diseños más conocidos que lograron ser iconos del diseño moderno: la silla roja y azul (1918/1923) y la Casa Rietveld-Schröder (1924).
El Vitra Design Museum subraya la actualidad de la creación de Rietveld con un amplio programa marco, bajo el lema prestado de Rietveld “Experimentos e Industria”. Así muestra los trabajos de seis jóvenes diseñadores de los Países Bajos en la exposición adjunta “Confrontations – Contemporary Dutch Design” en la Vitra Design Museum Gallery. En otros actos se discute la influencia de Rietveld en tendencias actuales, el trabajo del colectivo neerlandés de diseño Droog o perspectivas económicas de cooperaciones de diseño germano-holandesas.
Entre los participantes del programa marco se encuentran invitados famosos como Aaron Betsky, Jurgen Bey, Li Edelkoort, Formafantasma, Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Renny Ramakers, Studio Wieki Somers (wieki somers & dylan van den berg) y muchos más.
